In general, 7 elements 2X is way better than 4 elements design. However, even the quality between 7 elements designs vary a lot. And the actual performance = the lens + TC. The right combination will produce excellent results, while the wrong one, well, will still give you an image at least. |

Tamron has 7 elements and 4 elements 2X, the both OEM from Kenko.
4 elements 2x is basically rubbish unless it is special design for
ultra tele, like Pentax 2X-L.
